Why Sensory Play? Exploring the Benefits
Why sensory play?
It is amazing! Sensory play allows children to learn through their senses to develop a deeper understanding of the world around them.
I love that sensory play allows children to practice real life skills such as pouring, scooping, and even dumping. Think about how many times a day we pour drinks, cereal, and snacks for our children. Ohh those snacks. #alwayshungry #neverenough haha So by incorporating sensory play, our children get to practice these skills for when it is their turn to feed themselves. They also are practicing hand-eye coordination and measuring which gives them hands-on experiences to learn math and science concepts.
Sensory play gives children the opportunity to play independently and engage in pretend play. It builds up their attention span and allows them to focus for a longer period of time.
Don’t let the thought of your children making a mess while engaging in sensory play scare you! The benefits are way greater than the mess! Your children are going to learn so much! I will share some tips and tricks to help contain the mess and always remember, the vacuum is always there! lol
